Disable Wi-Fi assistance

Wi-Fi assistance allows your device to automatically connect to the mobile data network when the Wi-Fi signal is too weak. Please note that Wi-Fi assistance may increase your mobile data usage and in some cases incur additional costs.

Below we explain how to disable Wi-Fi assistance on your device.

  • Open Settings.
  • Tap on Mobile service.
  • Move the switch next to Wi‑Fi Assist to the left.

Wi‑Fi Assist is now turned off.
To turn it back on, simply move the switch to the right again.

  • Open Settings.
  • Tap on Connections, then on Wi‑Fi.
  • Turn on Wi‑Fi and tap the Options icon (three dots at the top right of the screen).
  • Select Intelligent Wi‑Fi.
  • Move the switch next to Switch to mobile data to the left.

Wi‑Fi assistance is now turned off.
To reactivate it, just move the switch back to the right.
