Here's how fiber installation works
- Fiber rollout in your street
This first step doesn't require any action on your part. Proximus technicians install fiber cables in each neighborhood street by street. Most of the time, these works go unnoticed, but for technical reasons it may be necessary to do some trenching.
- Connecting your home
During this second step, if fiber is already available in your street, we can connect your home to the network. An appointment is made for a technician to come and draw the fiber cable from the street to your home. During this visit, he will also run a test to make sure the Wi-Fi connection is working properly. Installation takes 2 to 4 hours, and may sometimes involve drilling a small hole in the front side of your house. Your Internet will only be down for a few minutes, but you'll still be able to get on with your activities.
