How to choose the right internet speed for you?
20 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 300 Mbps... But what to choose?
Many operators promise internet subscriptions with download speeds above 300 Mbps. Super fast, but also super expensive and not necessarily useful because the choice of your speed depends on what you do with it. At Scarlet, we help you understand what the right internet speed is for you and choose the subscription that will perfectly suit your needs.
What is good internet speed?
To understand the internet offers that are proposed to you, you must know how to read the amounts displayed:
- The first amount corresponds to the download speed (dowload) in Mbps (megabit per second), it is often the most important to read because it tells you how powerful you receive internet data. A good download speed is at least 25 Mbps.
- The second amount indicates the upload speed, i.e. the speed at which you can upload elements on the net (upload a video or share a document ..). A good upload speed is at least 4 Mbps.
How fast should your internet connection be?
Here's an overview of Mbps download speeds and what you can actually do with it:

Never go over budget again
If you want to use your internet connection to telework or entertain yourself, a standard speed will be sufficient. With a Scarlet Poco subscription, you have 30 Mbps for only 23 euros per month.
If you are several at home or you like to watch your programs in top quality, you will need a higher throughput. In this case, it is better to opt for our Loco subscription, and its download speed of 70 Mbps unlimited!
In any case, we must take into account an important element: the number of devices connected via Wi-Fi. This is especially important if you are a fan of streaming because videos reduce the speed of your internet connection. The more devices you use to stream, the faster you'll need.
In any case, you can easily get started with Poco and if you notice that you need more throughput, you can switch to Loco in just a few clicks.
