Social tariff

Who?

For people 65 years of age and older

They may:

  • live alone;
  • cohabit with 1 or more persons over 60 years of age;
  • cohabit with 1 or more children;
  • cohabit with 1 or more of their children or grandchildren with disabilities (at least 66%) without age limitation;
  • cohabit with 1 or more of his grandchildren who have lost their father and mother or who have been entrusted to him by court order;
  • living in a nursing home or other form of community living.

They may:

  • be 65 years of age or older;
  • have a Scarlet subscription in their name and for exclusive use;
  • earn a maximum of € 19,105.58 gross per year for 1 person, possibly increased by a gross annual amount of € 3,536.95 per inhabitant. The income of children over the age of 18 is of course also taken into account. A school certificate must be submitted if the interested parties are still students.

For beneficiaries of an integration income.

For persons who are officially recognised as beneficiaries of the integration income and who therefore receive the minimum means of subsistence.

For people with disabilities

They may:

  • live alone;
  • cohabit with a maximum of 2 non-family members;
  • cohabit with relatives or relatives by marriage in the 1st degree (spouse, father, mother, stepparents, children, stepchildren) or 2nd degree (brothers, sisters, half-brothers, half-sisters, grandparents, grandchildren);
  • living in a nursing home or other form of community living.

They must:

  • have a disability of at least 66% and be 18 years of age;
  • have a Scarlet subscription in their name and for exclusive use;
  • earn a maximum of € 19,105.58 gross per year for 1 person, possibly increased by a gross annual amount of € 3,536.95 per inhabitant. The income of children over the age of 18 is of course also taken into account. A school certificate must be submitted if the interested parties are still students.

For some hearing impaired people and people who have had a laryngectomy.

They must:

  • have suffered a minimum hearing loss of 70dB for the better ear according to the classification of the International Bureau of Audiophonology (BIAP)
  • or have had a laryngectomy.

Parents or grandparents may benefit from the social tariff if their cohabiting children or grandchildren meet one of the above conditions for disabled persons.

For people officially recognized as having become blind during the war.

Important!
You must keep us informed of any changes to the conditions of eligibility if they no longer apply. The social tariff option must be terminated in writing.

The procedure

We register your application and send it for approval to BIPT (Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications).
The social tariff takes effect during the month following the activation of the option.
You will receive a confirmation letter from Proximus once your application has been approved.
You receive a refusal from BIPT when your application has not been approved.
